Job summary

Silven Recruitment Ltd is seeking a hands-on Raw Materials Manager for a busy production site in the food sector. You will link suppliers, planning and procurement, driving on-time delivery and quality while developing supplier relationships and maintaining cost awareness.

You’ll lead with a people-first approach, stay organised under pressure, and keep the site informed to ensure smooth, efficient operations. Training and development are highlighted by the business as valued support.

Qualifications

• Experience in raw materials, stock, or supply within food manufacturing (meat a plus).
• A genuine people-first approach — with suppliers and colleagues alike.
• Strong organisation and a calm head when problems land.
• Good commercial awareness around cost, quality, and availability.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with suppliers to ensure raw materials consistently arrive within spec.
• Manage rejections and refunds quickly and fairly when product falls short — for example, foreign body issues like blue plastic.
• Build strong, lasting supplier relationships so they value dealing with the site.
• Stay organised and responsive, so issues are flagged and resolved fast.
• Keep the planning and procurement teams informed so the whole site runs smoothly.
