Job summary

Barrett Petfood in Brainerd, Minnesota is seeking a Full Time Raw Ingredient Receiver to ensure the highest quality ingredients are delivered to our production line.

This onsite role runs Monday through Friday, 6PM - 2:30AM with a competitive pay range of $21.00–$24.50 per hour and a benefits package including medical (company paid), dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, life insurance, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Able to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
• Work in varying environmental conditions including hot/cold and noisy areas.
• Attention to safety, sanitation, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operation of the Meat room.
• Train staff in proper workflow and sanitation procedures.
• Enter batch information into Plex Software and manage inventory daily.
• Mix ingredients and grind blocks of meat.
• Add oils per customer specifications.
• Receive trucks and enter inventory into the system.
• Unload frozen meat pallets using a forklift.
• Clean meat room equipment to maintain sanitation.
• Collaborate with team to ensure timely and safe processing.

What's your day like?

As a new Full Time Raw Ingredient Receiver at Barrett Petfood, you can expect to engage in a variety of essential tasks daily. You will inspect incoming shipments of raw ingredients, ensuring they meet our quality standards. You'll utilize equipment to unload trucks and accurately record ingredient specifications. Additionally, you will maintain an organized inventory and perform regular checks on the storage areas to ensure freshness and compliance with safety regulations.

Your schedule will run Monday through Friday, 6PM - 230AM, allowing you to enjoy a stable work-life balance. Collaborating closely with team members, you will foster a customer-focused environment while contributing to innovative processes that uphold our integrity and excellence.

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the Meat room.
• Train staff in proper workflowand sanitation procedures
• Enter batch information into Plex Software and manage inventory on a daily basis to ensure product is in stock and accurately counted
• Mix ingredients together and grind blocks of meat into meat grinder
• Add oils as needed per customer specifications
• Receive in Trucks and enter inventory into computer
• Unload frozen meat pallets into freezer for storage using forklift
• Clean meat room equipment throughout the day and at the end of runs to ensure sanitation of equipment is up to standards
• Work with a team to ensure products are safely processed in a timely manner

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, and perform other physical activities required in a manufacturing environment.
• Climb and descend stairs and ladders safely and routinely, including accessing elevated work areas and equipment.
• Ability to safely operate or work from a scissor lift to access elevated equipment and production areas for inspection, verification, and environmental or sanitation sampling
• Maintain balance and stability while working on elevated platforms, stairs, ladders, and uneven or wet surfaces, as applicable.
• Work in varying environmental conditions, including areas that may be hot, cold, wet, humid, noisy, or subject to temperature fluctuations.
