Job summary

Barrett Petfood in Little Falls, Minnesota is hiring a Full-Time Forklift Driver to support on-site manufacturing operations. You will operate forklifts, use Plex ERP to locate bulk product, and ensure quality and safety in a fast-paced environment.

The role includes daily forklift inspections, loading and transporting palletized product, maintaining FIFO, and accurate data entry in Plex. Shifts available 2nd and 3rd with differential pay.

Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to use Plex ERP for locating bulk product and printing labels.
• Ability to complete daily forklift inspections.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on site.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to move bulk product safely.
• Inspect product prior to movement for quality.
• Scan bulk product onto packaging lines.
• Hang 2,000 lb bulk product and notify packaging operator.
• Weigh un-packaged bulk and report.
• Ensure FIFO in packaging and inventory.
• Enter product data and print pallet labels in Plex.
• Conduct daily forklift inspections and paperwork.
• Wrap and transport finished pallets to warehouse and stage for shipping.
• Count and verify packaging accuracy.

Shifts Available

• 2ND SHIFT Mon - Fri 2PM - 1030PM (+$1.50 shift differential)
• 3RD SHIFT Mon - Fri 10PM - 630AM (+$3.00 shift differential)

Day To Day Responsibilities

• Utilize Barrett's ERP system, Plex, for location of bulk product
• Ensure quality of bulk product by inspecting product prior to movement
• Scan bulk product onto the packaging line it will hang on
• Safely hang 2,000lb bulk product on the packaging line & notify the packaging operator
• Weigh any bulk product that did not get packaged into smaller bags & report it to the packaging operator
• Ensure FIFO
• Enter product information & print labels for pallets in our ERP system, Plex
• Screen kibble as necessary
• Conduct daily forklift inspections and complete paperwork
• Wrap & transport finished pallets to the warehouse & stage for shipping
• Count and check orders as they are packaged for accuracy

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, and perform other physical activities required in a manufacturing environment.
• Climb and descend stairs and ladders safely and routinely, including accessing elevated work areas and equipment.
• Ability to safely operate or work from a scissor lift to access elevated equipment and production areas for inspection, verification, and environmental or sanitation sampling
• Maintain balance and stability while working on elevated platforms, stairs, ladders, and uneven or wet surfaces, as applicable.
• Work in varying environmental conditions, including areas that may be hot, cold, wet, humid, noisy, or subject to temperature fluctuations.
