Job summary

The Francis Howell School District is seeking a dedicated sponsor to lead the districtwide FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) program, RAVEN Robotics. You will coordinate planning, recruitment, fundraising, and practice schedules to ensure broad student participation across three district buildings.

You will guide student leadership, promote teamwork and problem-solving, and partner with families and community supporters to sustain a vibrant robotics program through the season and beyond.

Qualifications

• Ability to organize, coordinate, and support a districtwide extracurricular program.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, families, and community members.
• Interest in robotics, STEM education, engineering, or student-centered extracurricular activities preferred.
• Ability to support student leadership, teamwork, and a positive learning environment.
• Availability to attend scheduled meetings, evening practices, and competition-related activities as required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate initial program planning, fundraising strategies, and structure for the upcoming season.
• Establish communication among students, sponsors, families, and community supporters.
• Prepare for the upcoming season, including team organization and program needs.
• Actively recruit students from all three district buildings during Transition Day and Opening Year Events.
• Promote participation in the districtwide RAVEN Robotics program.
• Encourage student involvement, collaboration, and leadership.
• Host biweekly meetings focused on skill development and student-led structure.
• Coordinate ~15 hours of practice per week leading up to the March competition.
• Schedule practices after 5:00 p.m. at Francis Howell North to accommodate travel and participation.
• Maintain regular meetings post-competition to support workshop and program development.
• Develop districtwide student recruitment and fundraising plans for the upcoming season.
• Attend monthly Booster Club meetings and collaborate with district staff and families.
