Job summary

Lsslibraries is seeking a Cataloger to support a federal cultural institution in Washington, D.C. This full-time position includes cataloging, metadata creation, and processing of unique artists' books.

The candidate should have a strong background in library cataloging, specifically with RDA standards and Library of Congress Classification. Benefits include health care, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Experience creating bibliographic records using RDA standards.
• Ability to work on-site in Washington, DC during normal business hours.
• Knowledge of MARC21 bibliographic and authority formats.

Responsibilities

• Perform original and complex copy cataloging of artists' books.
• Create full-level bibliographic records.
• Research artists, publishers, formats, and publication history.
• Assign Library of Congress Classification (LCC) numbers.
• Rehouse artists' books in archival enclosures.
