Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Propulsion Test Engineer for Raptor Components in Hawthorne, CA. You will pressure-test high-pressure hardware, instrument it, and design tooling and ground support equipment for tests, guiding campaigns from development to qualification.

You will work with engineers, suppliers, and the components test organization to ensure data quality and clear go/no-go decisions under demanding conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics.
• 1+ years hands-on experience with mechanical, fluid, or electrical systems.
• Experience with high-pressure fluids, cryogenics, valves, regulators, actuators, or propulsion components.

Responsibilities

• Own component test plans, procedures, campaigns, and pass/fail criteria from development through qualification.
• Execute pressure, proof, leak, functional, thermal, and vibration testing on Raptor components and avionics.
• Propose tests, plan assets, coordinate peers, and assign responsibilities to meet dates.
• Design, build, and improve test tooling, fixtures, and automated test systems for speed and safety.
• Write procedures and train technicians and engineers for efficient checkouts.
• Be the instrumentation and measurement expert on the component team.
