Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Sr. Propulsion Engineer (Raptor Flight) to take engine operations from concept to reliable flight.

You will develop and oversee processes to safely prepare and fly Starship propulsion systems, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to push performance and reliability. The role requires strong thermofluids knowledge, design and test experience with liquid propulsion, and the ability to lead critical reviews under pressure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• 4+ years of experience with liquid rocket engines or related fluid systems.
• Experience in hardware design, manufacture, assembly, test, or flight.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis, development engineering, and flight operations tasks for Raptor propulsion systems.
• Align resources to achieve team objectives and set high performance standards.
• Enable high launch cadence with automated analysis of test and flight data and develop new algorithms for reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to improve engine performance and reduce costs.
• Support live test and flight operations as console operator and analyze telemetry to troubleshoot anomalies.
