Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Software Engineer for Propulsion Simulation & Data Analysis (Raptor) to advance lumped-parameter models and engine-cycle analysis. You will translate test data into predictive models for reliable flight engines and collaborate across engineering teams to improve tooling and software interoperability.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or STEM discipline.
• 1+ year experience writing software.
• 1+ year experience with physics-based simulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain/Improve lumped-parameter thermofluid model of Raptor engine.
• Conduce engine cycle analysis for design/thrust upgrades.
• Conduct anomaly resolution using engine model and sparse instrumentation.
• Understand physics of engine performance and measurement techniques.
• Maintain Raptor engine representation for simulations/validation/Monte Carlo analyses.
• Develop tools to understand sources of performance variability and improve hardware design.
