Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Propulsion Technician for 2nd shift to assemble and test rocket hardware and sub-assemblies. The role requires reading blueprints, operating welding and forming equipment, and maintaining safety and quality standards on the shop floor.

Candidates should have 2+ years on aircraft or rocket engines and 5+ years aerospace engines experience, plus an A&P license. SpaceX offers comprehensive benefits and potential long-term incentives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• Experience staging, installing, removing and de-staging propulsion engines.
• A&P license.
• 2+ years on aircraft or rocket engines.
• 5+ years aerospace engines experience.
• Knowledge of measurement devices and propulsion systems.
• Strong math, problem solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team to meet schedules.
• Operate readouts on automated interfaces and hydrostatic proof booth.

Responsibilities

• Assemble main combustion chamber assemblies and sub-assemblies for welding.
• Follow procedures, specifications and test instructions.
• Operate DAVI roll former and automated TIG welding machine.
• Run machines for surface prep or thermal barrier coating.
• Read technical drawings and follow work instructions.
• Use calibrated tools: torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers.
• Set up, test and de-tool thrust chamber assemblies.
• Troubleshoot engines and cell systems.
• Operate forklifts, cranes and heavy equipment.
