Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen therapy, diagnostic testing and ventilation support for patients from neonatal to geriatric within our hospital system.

The role requires a state license as a Respiratory Therapist, NBRC RRT credential, and BLS/ACLS certifications within 90 days of hire, with a strong focus on patient education and teamwork to ensure safe, effective care.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree preferred; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Current License as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.
• Certification by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
• BLS and ACLS certifications must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to established policy and procedure.
• Reviews and documents all clinical information regarding each patient.
• Educates patients and coworkers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures, including ABGs and EKGs.
• Delivers oxygen therapy and ventilation support per physician orders.
• Maintains compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
