Job summary

Adventist HealthCare is seeking an experienced Rapid Response Registered Nurse for our ICU at Shady Grove Medical Center in Montgomery County, MD. The role involves supporting critical care teams, responding to rapid response calls, and activating codes when needed.

The ideal candidate will have a BSN, 3+ years in acute care (CCU/ED), and current BLS/ACLS certifications. This position offers nights (7pm–7am) with every other weekend and a focus on safety, evidence-based practice and quality

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred.
• Minimum: Three years acute care nursing experience, CCU or ED experience with direct patient care and staff education.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and high-stress situations in a patient care environment.
• Licensed Registered Professional Nurse.
• Active ACLS or other technical certifications as per area assigned.
• Active American Heart Association BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care support to nursing staff in all hospital areas. Respond to Rapid Response Team calls and activate Code STEMI, Sepsis, Stroke when appropriate.
• Promote cohesive teams and support intra- and interdisciplinary teamwork.
• Ensure a culture of safety and adherence to standards of care; work at bedside to maintain competencies.
• Collect and analyze rapid response data; conduct rounds to identify and intervene with at-risk patients.
• Demonstrate leadership, communication, conflict resolution, teamwork and participation in practice updates.
