Job summary

RTX is seeking a Casting Lab Operations Manager to lead the Rapid Prototype Casting Laboratory (RPCL) in East Hartford. You will oversee the operations team, drive lean initiatives, and steer continuous improvement while ensuring safety, quality, and cost targets for turbine engine castings.

The role requires a strong background in manufacturing leadership, aerospace quality standards, and collaboration with unionized workforces to deliver advanced castings for higher temperature capabilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 7+ years of experience.
U.S. citizenship is required to access information under this program/contract.
Knowledge of aerospace quality practices (ISO9001/AS9100) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead the RPCL operations team including shop supervisor, master scheduler/material planner, and other staff; emphasize team building.
Manage resources and requirements across manufacturing cells.
Establish production schedules considering customer needs and priorities.
Oversee projects, including capital equipment installations; drive continuous improvement and EH&S efforts.
Set headcount targets to meet capacity needs and recruit accordingly.
Develop and enforce standardized operations practices and tools.
Monitor time accounting to meet program cost targets and overhead budgets.
Drive lean principles to achieve business targets.
