Job summary

Akron General Rapid Observation Unit (ROU) at Cleveland Clinic seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to evaluate, diagnose and treat observation-level acute medical conditions. You will work with physicians, nursing and ED teams to ensure safe transitions of care and efficient throughput.

Responsibilities include performing exams, ordering tests, educating patients, and participating in quality improvement and research initiatives.

Qualifications

• MSN required upon hire or within 3 years for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role.
• Graduate of an accredited APRN program.
• RN license in applicable states and national NP certification.

Responsibilities

• Conducts thorough medical histories and physical examinations; orders tests as needed and develops a diagnostic plan.
• Performs and interprets routine diagnostic procedures and evaluates results.
• Prescribes and monitors medications as allowed by license and institutional policies.
• Educates patients about diseases, treatments and medications; answers questions.
