Job summary

Knife River is seeking a reliable Rap Crusher Operator/Foreman to lead the maintenance and operation of our portable rap crusher. This role oversees day-to-day operations and keeps equipment running safely with minimal downtime.

Expect to troubleshoot mechanical issues, perform preventative maintenance, weld and fabricate as needed, and travel as the crusher operates throughout Idaho. A minimum of five years’ experience and a valid driver’s license are required; training is available.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in related roles.
• Experience operating excavator and loader is required.
• Experience with crusher and asphalt plants preferred.
• Mechanical and fabrication experience preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must meet the company's attendance policy.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Set up, tear down, and day-to-day operations of the portable rap crusher.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with crusher and belts.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as lubrication and belt/crusher adjustments.
• Repair or replace motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, and other components.
• Feed crusher with excavator and operate loader/dozer as needed.
• Perform general welding and fabrication as needed.
• Assume other duties as assigned and participate in training.
• Work in extreme weather and extended hours up to 7 days a week when required.

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Rap Crusher Operator/Foreman to lead the maintenance and operation of our Rap Crusher. This role is responsible for the day to day operations of the crusher as well as maintaining the equipment to keep the plant running safely and efficiently with minimal downtime.

Duties and/or Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the setup, teardown, and day to day operations of our portable rap crusher.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with crusher and supporting conveyor belts.
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks such as lubrication, belt adjustments, crusher adjustments, and component replacements
• Repair or replace motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, and other critical components
• Feed crusher with excavator and run loader/dozer as needed
• Perform general welding and fabrication as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Training available

Working in extreme weather conditions should be expected

Willing to work varied and extended hours up to 7 days a week when needed

Travel will be required as the crusher operates throughout Idaho.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven work history reflecting a minimum of 5 years of experience
• Must have excavator and loader operator experience
• Experience with Crusher and Asphalt Plants preferred
• Mechanical and fabrication experience preferred
• Must have a current Driver's license
• Must be able to meet company's attendance policy
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
