Job summary

Knife River seeks a reliable Rap Crusher Operator/Foreman to lead maintenance and daily operation of our portable rap crusher across Idaho. This role keeps the plant running safely and efficiently with minimal downtime while training team members as needed.

Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of related experience, plus excavator and loader operation. Travel across Idaho is required, and willingness to work extended hours may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in related roles.
• Experience with excavator and loader operation.
• Experience with crushers and asphalt plants preferred.
• Mechanical and fabrication experience preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must meet attendance policy and pass pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Set up, teardown, and daily operation of portable rap crusher.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with crusher and conveyors.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as lubrication and belt adjustments.
• Repair or replace motors, gearboxes and bearings.
• Operate excavator/loader/dozer to feed crusher.
• Perform welding and fabrication as needed.
• Travel across Idaho as crusher operates in multiple sites.

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Rap Crusher Operator/Foreman to lead the maintenance and operation of our Rap Crusher. This role is responsible for the day to day operations of the crusher as well as maintaining the equipment to keep the plant running safely and efficiently with minimal downtime.

Duties and/or Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the setup, teardown, and day to day operations of our portable rap crusher.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with crusher and supporting conveyor belts.
• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks such as lubrication, belt adjustments, crusher adjustments, and component replacements
• Repair or replace motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, and other critical components
• Feed crusher with excavator and run loader/dozer as needed
• Perform general welding and fabrication as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Training available

Working in extreme weather conditions should be expected

Willing to work varied and extended hours up to 7 days a week when needed

Travel will be required as the crusher operates throughout Idaho.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven work history reflecting a minimum of 5 years of experience
• Must have excavator and loader operator experience
• Experience with Crusher and Asphalt Plants preferred
• Mechanical and fabrication experience preferred
• Must have a current Driver’s license
• Must be able to meet company's attendance policy
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
