Job summary

Thompson Hine LLP in Chicago seeks a Rankings, Awards & Media Relations Coordinator to own the firm’s recognition program, manage submissions, and amplify results across channels. The role collaborates with attorneys, marketing, and BD teams to pursue award opportunities and improve market visibility.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, deadline-driven, and capable of drafting compelling matter narratives and practice descriptions while coordinating interviews and ensuring timely

Qualifications

• Strong communication, project management, and interpersonal skills are essential.
• 3–5 years of law firm marketing/communications experience preferred.
• Knowledge of legal directories and awards (e.g., Chambers, The Legal 500, The American Lawyer, Law360).
• Excellent writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
• Flexible and able to work extended hours to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Owns strategy and execution for awards, surveys, and directory submissions.
• maintains Directors & Rankings calendar with deadlines and statuses.
• Researches new opportunities and recommends participation to stakeholders.
• Drafts submissions and develops matter narratives highlighting achievements.
• Manages submissions from planning to release with tracking systems.
• Builds relationships with directory editors and researchers to stay aligned with guidelines.
• Coordinates interviews with survey researchers and prepares prep materials.
• Analyzes results and trends to inform future strategy.
• Develops internal/external communications announcing rankings and awards.
