A popular Atlanta restaurant is seeking a friendly and organized Host to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests. The ideal candidate will ensure positive dining experiences by managing reservations, greeting customers, and assisting staff. Interested candidates should have excellent customer service skills and be available for shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall is seeking a friendly and organized Host to join our restaurant team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests and ensuring they have a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests to the restaurant with a friendly demeanor.
• Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists to ensure efficient guest flow.
• Manage reservations and coordinate with wait staff about available seating options.
• Escort customers to their assigned dining or bar areas and provide them with menus.
• Greet customers upon their departure, thanking them for their visit.
• Assist guests who require extra attention, such as children or elderly patrons.
• Answer incoming calls and address customers' queries regarding reservations or menu items.
• Maintain a clean and organized reception area to create a pleasant first impression.
• Assist wait staff as needed to enhance overall service delivery.

Qualifications/Skills

• Previous work experience as a Host is preferred.
• Strong understanding of restaurant etiquette and health and safety regulations.
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
• Exceptional communication skills, both in-person and on the phone.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire dining and bar area.
• Availability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Good physical condition to walk and stand for extended periods during a shift.
• High school diploma is required; hospitality certification is a plus.

Essential Physical Functions

• Must have the ability/stamina to work a minimum of 20 hours a week.
• Ability to stand/walk for 8-10 hours per day.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
• Will frequently stand, walk, reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate and key in data.
• Must be able to work in both warm and cool environments, indoors and outdoors.
• Must be able to tolerate higher levels of noise from music and customer traffic.
• Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, and soy.
• Report to work in a complete required uniform.
• Maintain a well-manicured appearance and persona that reflects the image of the restaurant.
• Meet personal schedule requirements punctually.
