Job summary

Equity LifeStyle Properties (ELS) is seeking a Ranger in Gladys, Virginia to patrol campground grounds, assist guests, and enforce rules while maintaining safety. The role involves gate access control, reservations, and store sales, with emphasis on guest satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, good communication skills, the ability to handle stressful situations calmly, and a background in security or RV environments is a plus. Weekend/holiday work is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills; ability to use computer applications.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to assess situations, exercise good judgment and resolve problems diplomatically.
• Exceptional customer service and communications skills with a friendly demeanor.
• Experience in security and/or law enforcement, and/or RV environment is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and current auto insurance.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays regularly.

Responsibilities

• Walk or patrol campground grounds to answer questions, enforce rules and ensure guest safety and belongings.
• Monitor the property to identify issues or potential problems.
• Ensure the property is secured and guests comply with resort rules.
• Manage campground gate access and verify entry eligibility.
• Perform routine patrols, golf cart and rental inspections.
• Take camping reservations, check guests in/out and sell day passes and store items.
• Prioritize guest safety and satisfaction.

What you'll do:

• The Campground Ranger position may include walking or patrol of the grounds of the campground answering questions, enforcing rules and ensuring the safety of our guests and their belongings.
• The ideal employee can handle any stressful situation in a calm manner and react accordingly with regards to local, state and federal law.
• Monitor the property with a keen eye for any property issues or potential problems.
• Ensure that the property is properly secured.
• Ensure that guests comply with resort rules, respond to areas of concern and contact law enforcement if necessary.
• Monitor all incoming guests through the campground gate and validate if access is acceptable.
• Perform routine patrols, golf cart and rental inspections.
• Take camping reservations, check people in and out and sell day passes and items at the store.
• Prioritize guest safety and happiness.

Skills & experience you need:
