Job summary

Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC) seeks a Police Instructor Senior to serve as Rangemaster, overseeing the range and delivering basic, advanced, and specialized training across Kansas. The role includes curriculum development and leadership of instructional staff at KLETC and outreach sites.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree, at least 8 years as a certified officer, and strong written communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 8 years of increasingly responsible experience as a full-time certified law enforcement officer.
• Effective written communication skills as evident in application materials.

Responsibilities

• Rangemaster duties; ensure range readiness for training and qualifications.
• Schedule and conduct remedial firearms training for students who do not pass their qualifications.
• Maintain armorer certificates and conduct weapons inspections; keep weapons records.
• Review curriculum content and disseminate changes across Kansas law enforcement academies.
• Maintain range facilities, report maintenance needs, and coordinate outside agency use.
