Job summary

InDyne, supporting the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) Range Safety Office in Patuxent River, MD, delivers critical range safety planning, hazard analysis, documentation development, and real-time test support. The role applies ORM to minimize risk to personnel and infrastructure.

As the Navy’s premier East Coast test range, ATR enables testing of naval aircraft and weapons systems. The engineer will lead safety guidance and operate containment systems during missions, with strong emphasis on

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree or related field (physics, math, CS).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in development, test, or evaluation of instrumentation systems.
• Experience producing technical and operational test plans; executing tests; reviewing data and results.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and implement range safety guidance, policies, and hazard control procedures.
• Review test plans and documents to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety instructions.
• Perform hazard mitigation, PRA, and Flight Safety System evaluations for unmanned, ballistic, and directed energy systems.
• Qualify and serve as a Mission Range Safety Officer (MRSO) for ATR programs.
• Provide real-time safety support during test missions and operate flight safety containment systems.
• Collaborate with project offices to advise on system feasibility, resources, and safety adaptability.
