Job summary

MOHI Ranch seeks a dedicated Ranch Herd Assistant to care for Highland cattle, mini-Highland cattle, donkey, and other livestock, supporting events and guest experiences.

Youll feed, clean, monitor health, assist with veterinary/farrier visits, handle training, grooming, and prepare animals for weddings, photos, and offsite appearances. Availability includes mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Strong animal handling and welfare knowledge.
• Ability to observe and respond to changes in animal health and behavior.
• Comfort working around cattle, bull, donkeys, and other livestock.
• Willingness to perform physical ranch tasks in outdoor settings.
• Good communication with managers and guests.

Responsibilities

• Feed and provide fresh water to the herd as directed.
• Clean stalls, pens, shelters, and feeding areas; maintain sanitary conditions.
• Monitor animals for changes in health, behavior, or appearance.
• Assist with veterinary, farrier, grooming, and other animal care appointments.
• Prepare animals for ranch experiences, weddings, and offsite appearances.
• Support setup and breakdown of interaction areas and equipment.
• Help with transportation of animals to offsite events and back.
