Job summary

Menzies Aviation LATAM is seeking a Ramp Supervisor in Oklahoma City to oversee lead agents, allocate ramp resources, and ensure safe handling of cargo and baggage. You will mentor staff, participate in hiring and training, and ensure compliance with company safety policies.

Responsibilities include shift briefings, timecard processing, and editorial of performance evaluations while maintaining high standards of security and operating procedures.

Qualifications

  • Experience in ramp/airline operations is required and preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs repeatedly.
  • Must be 18 years or older and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Will undergo pre-employment drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise lead agents and allocate ramp resources as needed.
  • Move cargo and baggage to and from aircraft and facilities.
  • Ensure ramp personnel follow safety regulations.
  • Mentor and train new employees and conduct evaluations.
  • Interview, hire, train staff and complete performance reviews.
  • Sign timecards, complete shift reports, and prepare disciplinary documents.
  • Assist in baggage handling and conduct shift briefings.
  • Read aircraft weight/balance and loading manifests; follow routing tags.
  • Operate motorized equipment; adapt to weather and shift changes.

  • Ensure that ramp personnel adhere to established company safety regulations
  • Perform as a mentor to other employees and provide training to new employees
  • Some responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems as needed for violations of company policy
  • Complete shift reports and sign timecards
  • Assist in the preparation of performance evaluation forms
  • Prepare disciplinary incident and or termination reports
  • Assist in the baggage handling area
  • Conduct shift briefings to ensure staff is organized and informed
  • Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags
  • Operate motorized equipment

What We Are Looking For
  • Prior Ramp/Airline experience required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Possess valid US driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and all pre-employment testing
  • Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English
  • Must be comfortable lifting 70lbs repetitively
  • Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Pass FBI background and obtain US Customs Seal
  • To report any significant deficiency in our products, materials and documents
  • Has the duty to suggest any improvements to working practices, especially those relating to Safety and security
  • Must have read and signed the Station Quality Manual, Emergency Response Procedures Manual and the Station Security Manual.
  • Must have high school diploma, GED
