Job Summary

Ramp Operations Manager positions are responsible for establishing safety policies, procedures, and working conditions that affect employees on the job. They oversee the immediate work environment and the actions of all personnel reporting to them. They must communicate all safety policies and procedures within their operation. The role involves directing and coordinating activities to ensure a safe environment for employees while maintaining efficient services. This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with tight schedules to meet arrival and departure goals. The operations manager must consistently display a professional and positive image.

Job Duties
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings for all employees.
  • Conduct flight, station, and "at risk" behavior audits.
  • Participate in monthly safety conference calls.
  • Communicate safety awareness and work with customers to determine manpower needs for various operations.
  • Oversee recruiting and staffing efforts to meet requirements and follow customer instructions regarding standards and procedures.
  • Investigate incidents, report, and implement corrective actions for aircraft damage or employee injuries; conduct coaching and counseling as needed.
  • Manage disciplinary actions, ensuring proper documentation and policy adherence.
  • Coordinate procurement of operational supplies to meet standards.
  • Review payroll and hours to stay within budget.
  • Monitor operational irregularities and document out-of-scope activities for approval.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with supervisors and daily equipment updates with GSE mechanics.
  • Ensure compliance with uniform and appearance guidelines; inspect facilities regularly.
  • Review operational reports and ensure proper dissemination.
  • Investigate service failures, delays, and mishandling issues.
  • Administer operational plans for deicing, FOD, safety, winter operations, and baggage handling.
  • Perform personnel evaluations and liaise with airport authorities and customers.
  • Attend airport security and safety meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of Ramp Operation experience.
  • At least 18 years old, basic computer skills, and typing at least 35 WPM.
  • Four-year college degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience (preferred).
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Fluent in English, with good communication skills and a friendly personality.
  • Reliable transportation and availability to work weekends, holidays, and days off.
