We are seeking a detail-oriented Ramp Agent to join our ground operations team at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (SEA). In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring safe and efficient aircraft handling operations, including baggage loading/unloading and equipment operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail safely and efficiently
- Operate various ground support equipment including belt loaders, tugs, and pushback tractors
- Guide aircraft into and out of gates using hand signals and wing walking procedures
- Perform aircraft cabin services including cleaning and restocking
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures
- Maintain clear communication with flight crews and other ground personnel
- Monitor weather conditions and take appropriate safety measures
- Perform regular equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks
Qualifications
- Experience operating equipment such as tugs/tractors and belt loaders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy environment
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy items; work in high or cramped spaces; climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stand for extended periods
Must Haves to Join Our Team:
- Work at a constant, quick pace for up to two hours
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearance and other necessary credentials
- Ability to pass a physical ability test
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to interpret flight schedules and airline information electronically
- Basic math skills
- Proficiency in English for instructions and communication
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum age of 18
- Valid driver's license and one of the following documents: birth certificate, US Passport, Permanent Resident Card, or US Territory Passport with I-94
Additional Requirements
Employees must obtain and maintain a SIDA badge and pass a Physical Capabilities Test demonstrating the ability to lift, climb, sit, and pull weighted objects.
Union Information
This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Work schedules are assigned based on seniority and operational needs. Initial shifts are not guaranteed.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly wage: $20.18 to $23.28
