Job summary

ESP Associates, Inc. seeks a dynamic Geotechnical Engineering and/or Testing/Inspection leader to grow the Raleigh, NC group. The role will oversee a multi-disciplinary team, drive department performance, and nurture client relationships within eastern NC.

The candidate will lead a seasoned team, manage the P&L, review contracts, and collaborate across ESP disciplines to deliver quality solutions in a fast-paced market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration; NC reciprocity within 6 months if out-of-state.
• At least 10 years of geotechnical engineering, materials testing and/or special inspections experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and foster client relationships to grow ESP’s presence in Raleigh and eastern NC region.
• Lead the practice to set and achieve profitability and growth goals.
• Take ownership of the department’s overall performance (P&L).
• Lead invoicing and revenue recognition for the department.
• Review project contracts and engage in contract negotiations with counsel as needed.
• Effectively manage client base, interaction, and satisfaction.
• Business development and marketing involvement, including networking and professional development.
• Ensure quality service, consulting, and deliverables in a timely and efficient manner.
• Prepare and/or review proposals and technical reports.
• Serve as a technical leader as necessary.
• Train and mentor staff and technicians.
• Collaborate with and support other ESP disciplines in the Raleigh market.
