Job summary

ESP Associates, Inc. seeks a dynamic Geotechnical Engineering and/or Testing/Inspection leader to head and grow the Raleigh, NC geotechnical group.

You will oversee a team of PMs, senior engineers, technicians, and support staff while guiding project delivery. The role emphasizes profitability, client interaction, and technical review, with opportunities to expand the eastern NC portfolio and collaborate across ESP disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or a related discipline
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration
• At least 10 years of relevant Geotechnical Engineering, Materials Testing and/or Special Inspections
• Strong technical skills in Geotechnical Engineering or Testing/Inspection
• Leadership and personnel management skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and foster client relationships to grow ESP’s presence in Raleigh and the eastern NC region
• Lead the practice to set and achieve profitability and growth goals
• Take ownership of the department’s overall performance (P&L)
• Lead invoicing and revenue recognition for the department
• Review contracts and engage in contract negotiations with counsel assistance
• Effectively manage client base, interaction, and satisfaction
• Business development and marketing with networking and professional development
• Ensure quality service, consulting, and timely deliverables
• Prepare and review proposals and technical reports
• Serve as a technical leader and mentor staff
• Collaborate with other ESP disciplines in the Raleigh market
