voestalpine Railway Systems Nortrak in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Welder to join our manufacturing team. The role involves assembling and welding railway components using heavy machinery, reading blueprints, and complying with safety and quality procedures.

You will operate grinders and power tools, finish welds and assemblies, and work from production schedules with minimal supervision. We offer competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Experience in welding and grinding operations.
• Experience with forklift and crane operations is an asset.
• Ability to read work orders and blueprints.
• Experience with measuring tools.
• Basic mathematical calculation skills (add/subtract, fractions, decimals).
• Less experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Process and assemble products per blueprints and drawings.
• Operate grinder, welder, and power tools.
• Finish grind, weld, fit, and assemble steel, iron, and manganese products as specified.
• Assemble products in a timely manner.
• Read and follow the production schedule.
• Work with little supervision.
• Adhere to safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
