Job summary

The State of Missouri seeks a professional to perform original assessment of distributable property for ad valorem tax purposes. You will collect and review data, enter it into the assessment system, and support cost of capital analyses.

Responsibilities include auditing documents, communicating with county officials and taxpayers, and performing property value calculations for railroad and utility assets. Location: Jefferson City, MO; extensive travel within state.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in accounting, economics, finance, or similarly situated field with 21 credits in accounting/economics/finance.
• Three years experience in accounting, finance, or economics.
• A Master’s degree may substitute for up to two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect, review, and enter data into the original assessment system.
• Provide technical assistance to county officials and taxpayers.
• Assist in developing cost of capital and other studies related to assessment issues.
• Audit documentation submitted by county officials and taxpayers.
• Perform calculations to establish the value of railroad and utility property.
