Job summary

Alstom NAM is seeking a Project Engineer Manager to lead engineering activities for modernization projects in North America. You will coordinate internal teams and external suppliers, ensure the quality, cost, and timely delivery of engineering work packages, and support bid technical solutions.

You will collaborate with mechanical, systems, electrical, and RAMS engineers to align resources, manage risks, and deliver high-impact solutions across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (equivalent education may substitute for a degree).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in project engineering management, ideally in the railway environment (design and/or modernization of rolling stock).
• Proven management skills, strong leadership, and experience working with customers on complex projects.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% within the NAM region, with occasional trips to Europe.
• Fluency in English (French is appreciated but not mandatory).

Responsibilities

• Coordinating all engineering activities across Alstom Services NAM, global Alstom units, and external suppliers.
• Managing the complete engineering work package, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) adherence.
• Overseeing risks and opportunities related to the engineering scope.
• Interfacing with the project core team, engineering community, and end customers.
• Supporting bids as a Bid Technical Manager by defining technical solutions to be offered and committing on the Engineering effort for the project phase (Q, C, D).
• Collaborating with leaders of various engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, systems, electrical, RAMS) to ensure resource alignment and deliverable management.
