Job summary

This position is ideal for rail industry retirees and professionals seeking part-time work. The role requires 100% travel, with assignments that may extend for several weeks at a time.

The Utility Construction Management Associate ensures third-party projects on railroad property meet approved plans and agreements. You will identify non-compliant items, establish relationships with field personnel, and support documentation and reporting throughout site visits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of AREMA standards.
• General construction practices knowledge.
• Proficiency with electronic communications including email and text.

Responsibilities

• Observe utility installations across railroad property.
• Perform on-site observation of trenchless construction within railroad right-of-way.
• Document pre- and post-construction site conditions, materials, and layout; maintain dialogue with field personnel.
• Attend railway (flagger) and contractor daily briefings and discuss project requirements.
• Submit time, expenses, and daily inspection reports.
• Escalate non-compliance items to management/engineers for review.
• Travel up to 100%.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture.
