Job summary

Great Basin Industrial, LLC is seeking a Railroad Tamper / Regulator & Equipment Operator for the Intermountain West. This hourly, full-time role involves operating a backhoe, learning to operate Tamper machines and Ballast Regulators, and supporting safe, efficient railroad infrastructure delivery across the region.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of backhoe experience, with railroad or heavy civil construction background preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of backhoe operating experience
• Experience in railroad or heavy civil construction preferred
• Must understand work instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors

Responsibilities

• Operate backhoes and other heavy equipment safely
• Set up equipment and attachments for daily operations
• Perform pre-start inspections and daily maintenance
• Grade, excavate and distribute earth and ballast
• Coordinate equipment movements with crew signals
• Locate underground utilities before excavation
• Lead a crew and delegate tasks when required
• Train others on equipment operations
