Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. seeks a dedicated Contractor in Charge (CIC) to oversee railroad-rights-of-way work in Reinholds, PA, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. You will lead safety briefings, monitor track conditions, and coordinate with dispatchers to manage train movements.

The role requires 2+ years in a railroad environment, strong communication, and willingness for long deployments. A valid license and field-ready demeanor are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of railroad experience, preferably in maintenance of way or TY&E
• Valid Driver's License
• Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability for long-term travel assignments, including multi-month deployments

Responsibilities

• Oversee worksite safety and provide flagging services as needed in place of railroad personnel
• Conduct job briefings and ensure compliance with FRA regulations (49 CFR 214) during work
• Monitor track conditions, approaching trains, and work activities to keep personnel safely clear
• Communicate with train dispatchers, engineers, and supervisors to coordinate train movements and permissions
• Document all activities, including briefings, incident reports, daily logs, and regulatory submissions
• Enforce all Railroad, State, and Federal policies
