Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) seeks a Contractor in Charge (CIC) in Huntington, WV to oversee construction, maintenance, and safety compliance for freight railroads, transit systems, and state DOTs.

The CIC ensures all work within railroad rights-of-way is performed safely and in accordance with regulations. The role requires travel up to 85% and involves conducting job briefings, monitoring track conditions, coordinating with train dispatchers, and maintaining thorough

Qualifications

• Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills.
• Communicates effectively in both verbal and written formats.
• Ability for long-term travel assignments, including multi-month deployments.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Oversee worksite safety and provide flagging services when needed.
• Ensure compliance with FRA regulations (49 CFR 214) during track activities.
• Monitor track conditions, approaching trains, and work activities for safe operations.
• Coordinate train movements with dispatchers and engineers.
• Document all activities, including briefings and incident reports, for management and regulatory agencies.
• Enforce all Railroad, State, and Federal Policies.
