Job summary

National Railroad Safety Services, Inc. (NRSS) is seeking a Contractor in Charge (CIC) in Midland, TX to oversee construction, maintenance, and safety compliance for freight railroads, transit systems, state DOTs, and rail partners.

This field role requires strong communication and organizational skills, a valid driver's license, a High School Diploma, and at least 2 years in a railroad setting (maintenance of way or TY&E).

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years' railroad experience (maintenance of way or TY&E).
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel for multi-month deployments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee worksite safety and provide flagging services as needed.
• Ensure compliance with FRA regulations (49 CFR 214) and railroad policies.
• Coordinate with train dispatchers, engineers, and supervisors.
• Document activities, briefings, incidents, and logs for management and regulators.
• Enforce safety standards on site.
