Job summary

Patriot Rail Company in Fort Smith, AR seeks a Conductor to oversee train crews and coordinate the loading and unloading of freight while strictly complying with FRA safety guidelines.

You'll review dispatch instructions, inspect equipment, communicate by radio, and assist with coupling/uncoupling and minor repairs. This role requires on-call availability, varying shifts, and frequent travel between yards and customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Oversee train crews and ensure safety in operations and FRA compliance.
• Review dispatch instructions and discuss with locomotive engineer and crew.
• Inspect equipment on cars prior to departures.
• Receive and transmit information by radio and telephone.
• Read bulletins, work orders, and switch lists.
• Assist with coupling/uncoupling, switches, and minor repairs to railcars.
• Coordinate with customers for accurate movement and placement of cars.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings to ensure rail safety.
