Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Valid Driver's License.
• 2 years verifiable work experience and/or college; railroad industry experience strongly preferred.
• Must pass all required assessments.
• Must pass a background screening.
• Federal regulations require random testing for drugs and/or alcohol.
• Must report to work on a 24-hour schedule.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all train orders, signals, and FRA rules.
• Review dispatch and yardmaster instructions and discuss with crew.
• Inspect equipment on cars prior to departures.
• Read bulletins, work orders, and switch lists.
• Assist and instruct crew to couple/uncouple cars and operate switches; maintain railcars.
