Position Overview

HDR Engineering is seeking a Railroad CADD Technician to join our Freight Rail group in Missoula, MT. This role involves supporting our local team of engineers, project managers, and industrial leaders in providing technical design and support for various engineering projects across the country. Our Montana team focuses on infrastructure improvements for railroad clients to enhance safety and efficiency in our communities. This position offers excellent growth opportunities for a self-motivated individual eager to learn and take on new challenges.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Create detailed drawings, layouts, sketches, maps, and graphic representations of engineering designs using computer-aided design software.
  • Demonstrate experience in structural drafting for all phases of construction documents, creating 2-D and 3-D structural drawings in BIM software from engineering sketches and team collaboration.
  • Understand procedures for producing design development and construction documents, with thorough knowledge of structural planning, drafting, detailing, and building materials.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Proficiency with 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
  • Basic understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.
