Job summary

Cedar Electronics is seeking a rail operations support worker to prep railcars, safely operate trucks, and conduct pre- and post-inspections. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and timely reporting while supporting inventory and customer communication.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and preferred certifications in AWS D15.0 welding and rail prepping training, with potential travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Welder to AWS D15.0 preferred.
• Prepping Training Certification preferred.
• Proven knowledge and experience on prepping.
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills; basic mechanical understanding.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass pre-employment testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform railcar prepping according to established procedure.
• Safely operate service truck/trailer/RTV.
• Conduct pre-inspection and post-inspection of equipment.
• Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Assist in inventory of materials and parts.
• Maintain communication with customers and adhere to policies.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Prepare reports accurately and timely.
• Learn and comply with rail policies and site guidelines.
• Travel or stay overnight as needed for site support.
