Job summary

TTX Company is seeking a Maintenance Specialist to repair, rebuild, and upgrade railcars as per blueprints and specs. You will weld, cut, and perform mechanical tasks while inspecting equipment for trouble sources.

Responsibilities include using hand/power tools, operating a forklift, measuring and assembling components, and logging repair data in the system. The role requires safety and reliability in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Mechanical skills are required.
• Welding and cutting are key skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications and follow repair manuals.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, modifies, and upgrades rail cars per blueprints and specifications.
• Rebuilds car components: bolsters, side framers, hitch heads, and box car doors.
• Welds (about 30% of the time) and uses cutting torch.
• Performs mechanical labor (majority of duties).
• Repairs and maintains railcars using hand and power tools; inspects equipment to locate trouble sources.
• Operates forklift to move and position parts.
• Measures, cuts, and threads pipes; replaces air lines using hand tools.
• Assembles subassemblies and major components; tests for proper operation.
• Repairs broken parts using hand tools and welding equipment.
• Enters car repair information into the electronic system.
