Job summary

AITX Repair Services in Tennille, GA is seeking a Railcar Repair Technician to perform railcar repairs and maintenance, read blueprints, and ensure work complies with FRA and AAR rules while keeping accurate repair records.

This full‑time, on‑site position offers $20.75 per hour, 401K with match, full health, vision and dental benefits, PTO, and on‑the‑job training. You’ll work with heavy equipment on railcars with no required travel.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English at a high school level.
• Ability to work in heat, cold and all-weather conditions.
• Comfortable around heavy equipment and on/around railcars.
• Knowledge of machines and tools required to weld, cut and gouge.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions including basic blueprints and schematics.
• Basic mechanical skills and the ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Interpret job work orders to perform required repairs.
• Coordinate and complete repairs efficiently within assigned hours.
• Follow all safety rules, keep work area clean and comply with EHS Policies.
• Ensure AAR, ARS and customer quality assurance standards are met.

A Railcar Repair Technician at this facility will be responsible for all aspects of railcar repair and maintenance. The team members must be able to read and understand blueprints, make car repairs in compliance with FRA and AAR rules and keep good repair records. As well as ensuring all company guidelines , quality assurance and safety rules are followed and met while performing job duties.

JOB DUTIES
