Job summary

AITX Repair Services is seeking a Mobile Railcar Repair Technician in La Porte, TX. This full-time role involves repairing railcars, reading blueprints, and ensuring compliance with FRA and AAR rules. Team members must maintain repair records and follow safety and QA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English at a high school level.
• Ability to work in heat/cold and all-weather conditions.
• Comfortable around heavy equipment and on/around railcars and tracks.
• Knowledge of machines and tools to weld, cut and gouge.
• Ability to follow oral/written instructions including basic blueprints/schematics.
• Basic mechanical skills and ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Validate driver's license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs using hand and power tools and MIG/Flux/Stick Welding.
• Interpret job work orders to perform required repairs.
• Coordinate and complete repairs efficiently within assigned hours.
• Follow safety rules and maintain a clean work area; comply with EHS policies.
• Ensure AAR, ARS and customer quality standards are met.

AMobileRailcar Repair Technician at this facility willbe responsible forall aspects of railcar repair and maintenance. The team members must be able to read and understand blueprints, make car repairs in compliance with FRA and AAR rules and keep good repair records. As well as ensuring all company guidelines, quality assurance and safety rules are followed and met while performing job duties.

JOB DUTIES
