Job summary

AITX Repair Services is seeking Railcar Repair Technicians in Indiana to handle all aspects of railcar repair and maintenance. Candidates should read blueprints, comply with FRA and AAR rules, and maintain repair records while following safety guidelines.

The role requires reading and writing English at a high school level, reading gauges and blueprints, and working around heavy equipment on and around railcars. On‑the‑job training, competitive hourly pay, and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Reading and understanding blueprints and schematics.
• Ability to read and write English at a high school level.
• Follow oral and written instructions including basic blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Interpret job work orders to perform required repairs.
• Coordinate and complete repairs efficiently within assigned hours.
• Follow safety rules and maintain clean work areas; comply with EHS policies.
• Ensure quality standards per AAR, ARS, and customer requirements.

A Railcar Repair Technician at this facility will be responsible for all aspects of railcar repair and maintenance. The team members must be able to read and understand blueprints, make car repairs in compliance with FRA and AAR rules and keep good repair records. As well as ensuring all company guidelines , quality assurance and safety rules are followed and met while performing job duties.

Job Duties

• Interpret job work orders to perform required repairs
• Coordinate and complete repairs in an efficient manner and within assigned hours
• Follow all safety rules, keep work area clean and comply with all AITX EHS Policies
• Ensure AAR, ARS and customer quality assurance standards are met

Job Requirements

• Ability to read and write English at a high school level
• Ability to w ork in the heat and cold and in all-weather conditions
• C omfortable work ing around heavy equipment and on top of and under railcars, as well as around railroad tracks.
• Knowledge of machines and tools required to weld, cut and gouge
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions including basic blueprints and schematics.
• Basic mechanical skills and the ability to read a tape measure
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
