Job summary

AITX Repair Services in Indiana is seeking a Railcar Repair Technician to perform repairs and maintenance on railcars. You will read blueprints, repair in compliance with FRA and AAR rules, and keep repair records while upholding safety guidelines.

The role requires working around heavy equipment, reading schematics, and following written instructions. This is a full-time on-site position with room for growth and opportunities for training.

Qualifications

• Read and write English at a high school level.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Comfortable around heavy equipment and railcars.

Responsibilities

• Interpret job work orders to perform required repairs.
• Coordinate and complete repairs efficiently within assigned hours.
• Follow safety rules and company policies; maintain repair records.
• Ensure QA and safety standards are met for all repairs.

A RailcarRepair Technicianat this facility willbe responsible forall aspects of railcar repair and maintenance. The teammembersmust be able to read and understand blueprints, make car repairs in compliance with FRA and AAR rules and keep good repair records. As wellasensuring all company guidelines, quality assuranceand safety rules are followed and met while performing job duties.

JOB DUTIES

• Interpret job work orders to perform required repairs
• Coordinate and complete repairs in an efficient manner and within assigned hoursFollow all safety rules, keep work area clean andcomply withallAITXEHSPolicies

• Ensure AAR,ARSand customer quality assurance standards are met

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to read and write English at a high school level
• Ability to work inthe heat and coldand in all-weather conditions
• Comfortableworkingaround heavy equipment and on top of and under railcars, as well as around railroad tracks.
• Knowledge of machines and toolsrequiredto weld, cut and gouge
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions including basicblueprintsand schematics.
• Basic mechanical skills and the ability to read a tape measure
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
