Responsibilities

• Perform freight car repairs and inspections per AAR/FRA rules using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment.
• Inspect rolling stock for defects and compliance with industry standards.
• Remove and replace defective components on railcars (trucks, shoes, coupler assemblies, air brake systems).
• Operate shop machines and tools safely (torches, drills, grinders, welding).
• Follow safety rules, document work on billing sheets, and keep area clean and organized.
• Assist in opening/closing doors, loading/unloading materials, and traveling as needed.
