Job summary

Greenbrier is seeking an Inspector, Associate to ensure in-process and completed work on railcars or railcar parts meet all company, customer, and railroad association requirements. The role involves performing inspections, identifying non-conformances, and coordinating with production and QA.

Qualifications

  • Ability to identify core types and component parts.
  • General Knowledge of status indicators.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions including basic blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, with customers and at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to learn and utilize the facility’s Inspection and Test Plan.
  • Ability to use measuring devices such as a micrometer, caliper, and tape measure.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to drive results through leadership and team performance.
  • Preferred: 1+ years of experience in similar work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs in-process inspections and notifies production of any additional required repairs.
  • Notifies Quality Assurance Manager of non-conformances.
  • Performs inspections in accordance with all applicable Greenbrier, customer, regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Follows all Environmental Health and Safety rules and regulations.
  • Provides or assists in quality related training and guidance of work force crew.
  • Liaisons with customers including technical issues or other customer requests.
