Job summary

UTLX, part of Marmon Holdings, is seeking an Inspector to perform visual, dimensional, and regulatory inspections of railcars throughout repair and qualification stages. You will ensure nonconforming conditions are reported and records are complete for final release.

The role requires on-site work five days a week, ability to meet shift and overtime needs, and proficiency with AAR/FRA regulations and inspection tools.

Qualifications

• Perform visual, dimensional, mechanical, and regulatory inspections of railcars.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure final car release readiness.
• Identify nonconformities and report them per forms and NCR system.
• Review shop-floor docs for completeness and regulatory compliance.
• Work with teams to plan shipments and coordinate inspections.

Responsibilities

• Inspect railcars and components at all repair stages.
• Escalate unusual issues and participate in root-cause actions.
• Interface with railroads and inspectors to resolve findings.
• Conduct function-specific training and QA administrative tasks.
