Job summary

UTLX, part of Marmon Holdings, is seeking an Inspector to perform thorough inspections of railcars and components across the repair and qualification process. You will document nonconformances, ensure records are accurate, and release cars for interchange in compliance with AAR/FRA standards.

The role requires NDT VT Level II certification, 3–5 years in railcar repair, and the ability to work outdoors with safety focus. High school diploma is required, and overtime may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 3–5 years in railcar repair or manufacturing.
• NDT Visual Testing (VT) Level II certification per AAR/ISO standards.
• Ability to interpret standards, drawings, and repair instructions.
• Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual, dimensional, mechanical, and regulatory inspections of railcars and components.
• Identify nonconforming conditions and document them in the corrective action system.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and final release documentation.
• Audit shop-floor processes to ensure regulatory compliance and quality.
• Collaborate with production to plan shipments and expedites repairs.
