Job summary

Transco Rail Services, part of Marmon Rail and Berkshire Hathaway family, seeks a Quality Assurance Manager in Houston to lead the site's QA program, ensure regulatory and customer compliance, and drive continuous improvement. You will oversee QA staff, coordinate audits, and partner across departments to enhance quality and safety in a railcar repair environment.

The role requires strong QA leadership, strong communication, and expertise in root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 5 years in production/manufacturing/repair with quality focus.
• Experience managing quality programs, audits, and corrective actions.
• Strong root-cause analysis, continuous improvement, and QMS knowledge.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organization and PM skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications; ability to balance priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage site Quality Assurance to meet regulatory and customer standards.
• Oversee QA Inspectors and promote accountability and improvement.
• Coordinate internal/external audits, certifications, and recertifications.
• Perform facility and final railcar inspections; review documentation.
• Lead investigations, corrective actions, and non-conformance resolution.
• Maintain qualification records, training, and calibration documentation.
• Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Engineering, HR, and Materials to drive excellence.
• Build customer relationships and coordinate responses to findings.
• Monitor quality metrics and implement improvement initiatives.
