Zusammenfassung

Road & Rail Services is hiring a Railcar Mechanic / Railroad Carman for our Wausau, Wisconsin operation. If you have experience in welding, fabrication, industrial maintenance, heavy equipment repair, or other hands-on mechanical trades, your skills may transfer well to this position.

Previous railroad experience is preferred but not required. We value mechanically skilled candidates who work safely, use tools, troubleshoot problems, and complete quality repairs in an outdoor industrial setting.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in welding, fabrication, industrial maintenance, heavy equipment repair, or related hands-on trades.
• Welding experience is highly recommended.
• Experience using basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a repair team.
• Strong attention to safety and repair quality.

Aufgaben

• Inspect railcars for mechanical defects, structural damage, wear, and fatigue
• Identify repairs that can be completed within Road & Rail Services' authorized scope
• Complete approved mechanical repairs according to customer requirements and applicable AAR specifications
• Perform welding, cutting, grinding, fabrication, and component replacement as required
• Use hand and power tools including wrenches, ratchets, pry bars, grinders, and related repair equipment
• Operate company equipment such as tractors and all-terrain vehicles when authorized
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Follow all company, customer, and railroad safety procedures
