Road & Rail Services is seeking an experienced Railcar Repair Mechanic with a proven background in mechanical repair, welding, fabrication, or related skilled trades. This is a full-time, on-site role in the railroad industry, with starting pay of $22.00 per hour and opportunities to work on diverse rail equipment.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have previous professional mechanical, welding, fabrication, or industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Experience reading and following repair procedures.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions.
• Reliable attendance and safety-conscious mindset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a skilled maintenance team.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair rail equipment to safety and repair standards.
• Inspect railcars for mechanical defects, wear, and fatigue.
• Diagnose problems and determine repair procedures.
• Repair, adjust, remove, and replace mechanical and structural components.
• Perform welding, cutting, grinding, and metal fabrication.
• Operate MIG and stick welding equipment where qualified.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain organized work areas.
